IPO Tracker

Help Guide

Allotments, Holdings & Selling

After you've applied, IPO Tracker helps you record allotment results, track your share holdings with live P&L, and log sales with a complete charge breakdown.

Recording Allotment Results

Single Allotment

Go to the Allotments page and find your application. Click to update its allotment status. You can set:

  • Status — Allotted, Partially Allotted, Not Allotted, or Cancelled
  • Allotment price — the final price per share
  • Allotted lots/shares — how many you received
  • Key dates — allotment date, refund date, demat credit date

When you mark an application as Allotted or Partially Allotted, a Holding record is automatically created — you don't need to add it manually.

Bulk Allotment

If you applied from multiple accounts and want to update all of them at once, use Bulk Allotment. Select the IPO, choose which applications to update, set a shared allotment status and price, and specify the allotted lots for each. This saves significant time when an IPO allots to multiple family accounts.

Tracking Holdings

The Holdings page shows all shares you currently hold from IPO allotments. For each holding, you can see:

  • Allotted shares and remaining shares (after partial sales)
  • Allotment price and average cost
  • Current market price and current value
  • Unrealized profit/loss (amount and percentage)
  • Listing price and listing day gain

You can filter holdings by IPO and by demat account.

Updating Market Prices

To update the current market price for a holding, you have two options:

  • Manual update — enter the current price yourself on the IPO detail page or holdings page
  • Refresh price — click the refresh button on the IPO detail page to automatically fetch the latest price

You can also update the price for all holdings of an IPO at once from the IPO detail page using "Update holdings price."

Recording a Sale

When you sell shares, go to the Transactions page and click to record a new sale. Select the holding, then enter:

  • Sale date and quantity (number of shares sold)
  • Sell price per share
  • Charges (all optional) — brokerage, STT, exchange charges, GST, SEBI charges, stamp duty, and other charges

Sale Preview

As you fill in the sale form, a live preview calculates:

  • Gross sale amount
  • Total charges
  • Net sale amount (after charges)
  • Cost basis
  • Realized profit or loss
  • Remaining shares after the sale

This helps you see your exact profit before confirming. The charges are optional — if you don't enter them, the sale is recorded at the gross amount.

Viewing Transaction History

The Transactions page lists all your past sales. Filter by IPO or account to find specific trades. Each row shows the full breakdown: quantity, sell price, charges, net sale, cost basis, and realized profit.
